What is a skill based mechanic?
A skill based mechanic is a mechanic designed from the ground up to be a skill to learn and improve at over many hours of gameplay, think for example rocket jumping.
Why does D.R.O.N.E. need more in my opinion?
Drone is an amazing game with a good skill ceiling as is, but with the current systems in place and planned systems there seems to be no room for more stuff to really master over hundreds of hours. These mechanics lead players to spend more hours ingame and give more satisfaction to players who put in the time to master them.
What is a solution that could be put in place right now?
I personally feel that hitting direct hits with the ingame rockets could be a very good place to start, but there would need to be slight tweaking to them to make this work.
-More predictable non-lock rocket movement
-More damage/Damage multiplier for hitting direct hits
(-slight speed increase for rockets)
To close off.
I would love to see more stuff to bite my teeth into to master, after about 430 I feel I'm reaching a cap only not met with my aim. I know some players feel the same.
I would love to see what all of you think however, and maybe you have some suggestions too!
